More "Minds"

Here's the most recent progress on Drawn Thread's Marriage of Minds. I think I'm about half way done! It's difficult to tell from this scan, but the R&R linen I'm stitching on is just beautiful; the mottling gives it such an heirloom feel. There's an extensive write-up that goes with the pattern explaining the symbolism of the different elements (owls, bees, deer, etc).

I really like the symbolism behind the red thread running between the two cranes:

As the story goes, the mysterious old man in the moon ties a magical and invisible red (for good luck) thread around the legs of newborn boys and girls. When they grow up, they are bound together by this powerful thread of which they are unaware. Should their paths cross, love and marriage is the inevitable outcome.
